  4. You can freely distribute the database, however - this is
  5. as of today a non commercial project.
  6. Please don't charge any money for the distribution!
  7. Please distribute the complete version, including this file README.UPD.

  9. The database is regularly updated and available via internet by
  10. anonymous ftp:
  11.     ifsws1.sozialforschung.uni-stuttgart.de:/pub/packclus/db/dbyymmdd.zip

  13. I also run a small phone BBS (+(49)-7147-13691) which offers the database
  14. updated on a daily schedule. For more information, please send me a mail!

  18. He doesn't have his own internet access right now, but you can try to
  19. reach him via an internet-packet gateway using the following internet
  20. address:

  22. (if using this address please notice that he only can send back mail
  23. via Packet Radio, so from internet this is a one way route!)

  26. Don't expect an answer, simply see the changes in the database when
  27. you download it next time!

  29. The database consists of two files, SDX_QSL.FUL and SDX_AD.FUL.
  30. To use it with PacketCluster, run MAKEIDX with both
  31. (Syntax: MAKEIDX SDX_QSL.FUL 70000) and setup the database definitions
  32. in your sysop.dat file.
  33. I recommend using 4 different database files: QSL,SDX_QSL,AD,SDX_AD.
  34. Use QSL and AD for local updates and SDX_QSL, SDX_AD for the DB0SDX
  35. database.
  36. Use 6 SET/COM/CHAIN commands to have a database lookup perform in every
  37. one of the 4 databases regardless of success in finding an entry or not.
  38. Make QSL the first database in the chain, with the others following.
  39. The first SET/COM/CHAIN will make the system lookup in SDX_QSL if nothing
  40. was found in QSL. The second will make it lookup in SDX_QSL even though
  41. something was found in QSL! etc. etc.

  49. By doing this the user simply enters a single SH/QSL command and gets all
  50. available information!

  52. You can check the version date of the databases by using the command
  53. SH/QSL RECORDS.

  55. Updates: the directory /pub/packclus/db/updates contains update files
  56. in a special format designed to allow remote updates via packet radio!
  57. Each update contains the new data updated between the newest database
  58. version and the version before.
  59. Please note that deletions are not included!
